Home Three-Part Series on Understanding Harm, Accountability, and Repairing Relationships

The educational harm series is a three part workshop series that provides advanced knowledge about dating and sexual violence on college campuses and within students’ communities. These workshops are ideal for student groups in close communities with one another who want to engage in discussion about dating and sexual violence. Students will gain deeper knowledge about their role in ending sexual violence. The workshops are each an hour long and focus heavily on small and larger group discussion as well as in depth activities.

The workshops and learning objectives for each are outlined below.

What is Harm?

Workshop Part 1

  • Understanding primary prevention of dating and sexual violence 
  • Identifying normalized harmful behaviors
  • Recognizing we are all capable of causing harm

Understanding Harm

Workshop Part 2

  • History and context of sexual violence 
  • A deeper understanding of the power dynamics around darting and sexual violence
  • Group dynamics and the relationship to harm within communities 

Repairing Harm & Restoring Relationships

Workshop Part 3

  • Understanding people who cause harm 
  • Restoring harm through personal accountability  
  • Repairing relationships through leaning into community
